The Omega 8007 Juicer is the latest iteration of Omega’s 8000 series of horizontal slow juicers. Single auger juicing technology is renowned for great performance across a wide range of ingredients, with a particular strength when cold press juicing leafy greens and wheatgrass. As usual we see a range of homogenising attachments that keep up the Omega Nutrition Centre tradition, adding the facility to make nut butters, fruit sorbets, noddles and more. Also available in polished chrome finish as the model 8008, this juicer is very similar to its predecessor the 8006 with a few slight changes. Find out more below…

- UK Juicers Says
The single auger juicer format has been around for decades now and horizontal low speed models do a great job of high nutrient juice extraction, particularly with hard veg and greens. Because the design has been taken more or less to the limit of its capability, when brands bring out a new model it’s rare nowadays to see anything but incremental improvements, often cosmetic, just to refresh the range. The 8007/8 is no exception in that regard, so don’t expect earth shattering results with this latest model.
Performance is more or less on a par with the excellent Omega 8006. Although this newer model has a slightly longer auger and a slightly bigger juicing screen that doesn’t translate into significantly higher juicer yields. It also has the innovation of a variable pressure juice nozzle to squeeze the pulp with a greater force but for day to day juicing most people will revert to the simpler ‘set it and forget it’ approach, rather than going for that extra drop or two of juice and slowing the process down. From our point of view, moving the juicer around with the new handle ‘slot’ on the 8007/8 is less preferable than the smoothly moulded handle on the 8004/6 but that’s neither here nor there in normal use. So after some head scratching we’d have to say that the biggest advantages on offer are the significantly larger juicing hopper that sits in the top of the feed tube, accompanied by smaller overall footprint for the juicer on your countertop. This means it’s a little easier to feed ingredients into the feed chute without them dropping over the edge.
So there you have it, an incremental improvement over the previous generation at an incremental price difference. You pay your money and take your choice. There’s no downside, because as always the latest Omega masticating juicers sit right at the top of the hierarchy of juicer technology.
(Please note, the UK voltage model is also known as the Omega 8227 with the ‘2’ denoting the different voltage motor – it is exactly the same juicer in all other respects)
