By eliminating the need for a mesh filter screen completely, The Sana 848 Cold Press Slow Juicer also eliminates the most bothersome aspect of cleaning most other fruit and vegetable juicers. Traditional juicing screens require some scrubbing with a brush to dislodge trapped fibres from the mesh during cleanup, and this is often the most time consuming part. Not with the Sana 848. The ingenious two part juice screen has no mesh – just opposing vertical slots to separate the juice – so cleanup is literally a few seconds rinse under the tap, making it the easiest of all juicers to clean.

Every design breakthrough usually has some kind of a trade off and this is seen here in the form of slightly pulpier results when juicing. For many people this will be no big deal, but even if you use a traditional sieve, there’s still no fruit and vegetable juicer out there that is quicker to clean. That’s huge!

Storing juice in the fridge in a vacuum sealed jug means you can batch juice in advance and the juice will stay fresh for up to three days, which also means you’ll juice less often and save more time. As well as the vacuum pump and 1.5 litre vacuum jug, Sana include a stunning polished stainless pulp catcher that can hygienically store pulp if you want to add it to muffins or soups, for example.

You retain all the usual functionality of cold press juicers with the fruit screen that makes juicing berries, pineapple and other soft fruit significantly easier. Plus there’s the homogenising blank or ‘sorbet screen’ that makes delicious frozen fruit sorbets.

It may not quite have the edge on other auto-cutting batch juicing systems from the same South Korean factory, but it’s just as quick in the execution, much quicker at cleanup, and you’ll be a couple of hundred quid in pocket from the saving on the initial outlay!
